SnapDock Privacy Policy

Local-first commitment

SnapDock is a local-first desktop application. Documents you open or create remain ordinary files on your computer. SnapDock does not provide document syncing, cloud storage, accounts, or remote document processing.

Data collection

SnapDock does not collect names, email addresses, analytics, or application crash reports. Diagnostic data independently collected by your operating system, package store, Electron, or another system component is governed by that provider’s policy.

SnapDock does not upload or transmit the contents of your Markdown documents.

Data stored on your computer

In addition to the documents you save, SnapDock stores local application state such as the last workspace, recent-file paths, theme, and spellcheck preference. Some preferences are stored in Electron’s per-user application-data directory rather than beside the installed program.

Uninstalling SnapDock does not necessarily remove that per-user application data. Remove SnapDock’s application-data directory separately if you want to clear retained preferences and recent paths. This does not delete Markdown documents stored elsewhere on your computer.

Network access

The editor works offline. A network connection is used when a supported direct installation checks for or downloads an update, when a package store updates its build, or when you choose an external web or email link. These actions do not upload your documents.

Third parties

SnapDock does not sell or share personal information. Microsoft Store, Snap Store, GitHub, your operating system, and websites you deliberately open may process their own request metadata under their respective policies.
