DocsHub — Release Architecture

DocsHub is a growing part of the ZFordDev ecosystem.

Like the projects it documents, DocsHub itself is continually evolving. This section exists to document that evolution openly, providing a transparent history of where DocsHub came from, where it is now, and where it is going.

Each release architecture represents a significant stage in that evolution.

Capybara — Future Version

Capybara is the next major evolution of DocsHub and the first version intended for public use.

It will introduce the ability for users to operate DocsHub themselves, either through an authenticated hosted service or through self-hosted deployments such as Docker.

Capybara builds upon the architectural foundations established by Wombat.

Wombat — Current Architecture

Wombat is the foundational rewrite of DocsHub.

It moves DocsHub from a collection of documentation pages toward a unified documentation platform, establishing the architecture for improved search, metadata, versioning, project connectivity, self-hosting, and future authoring.

Wombat is an active and evolving architecture rather than a finished release.

Legacy — Previous Generation

Legacy documents the original DocsHub architecture and the history of the platform leading up to Wombat.

It exists primarily as a historical reference, preserving how DocsHub began and why the architecture eventually needed to change.

The Road Ahead

DocsHub will continue to evolve.

Future architectures will be documented here as they are developed, allowing the platform’s history and direction to remain visible rather than hidden behind implementation changes.
