Read the RoadmapArchive Status & Support
SnapBoard reached version 0.2.5 Alpha and was archived after a change in project direction. Active development, release automation, and normal product support have ended. The source and these pages remain useful as a historical and technical record.
Current SnapDock support channels should not be interpreted as support for SnapBoard. SnapBoard is not a current SnapDock component or integration.
Final Known Limitations
- Only the initial/current board was usable through the final UI; board management was not wired.
- Several interactions retained obsolete CSS selectors, affecting card movement, existing-card editing, direct attachment drops, and column deletion.
- Attachments were absolute path references, limited to one per card, with no open or missing-file workflow.
- All data shared one JSON file; there was no board isolation, backup, import, export, or recovery UI.
- Markdown was sanitized locally, but link clicks were left to the Electron renderer and no dedicated external-link handler was present.
contextIsolationwas enabled and Node integration disabled, but the renderer sandbox was disabled and the preload bridge exposed genericsendandonmethods without channel allow-lists.- The updater code and UI existed, but the final release workflow was disabled and updater reliability was not established by repository tests.
- No automated tests were present for board operations, persistence, sanitization, packaging, or updates.
Historical Source and Issues
The archived repository and its old issue history may help researchers understand unfinished behavior. They should not be read as evidence that fixes or feature requests will receive a release.
The repository’s security policy historically requested private GitHub security advisories rather than public vulnerability issues. Because the project is archived, no response or patch should be assumed. Anyone running or forking the code is responsible for evaluating its Electron and dependency risks.
Features That Did Not Ship
Older documentation and planning material mentioned a database-backed storage migration, .sb backup files, SDWS export, SnapDock integration, board archives, workspace isolation, column reordering, templates, search, tags/filtering, multi-file attachments, compact layouts, automated backups, and multi-board containers. The archived source does not implement these as finished features.
This archive does not preserve them as a roadmap: archival ended the roadmap, and any future project with similar ideas would require its own current documentation.
