Settings & Preferences

SnapDock keeps configuration simple.
There is no dedicated settings panel in this version, and most behavior is designed to work automatically without requiring manual setup.

This section explains the small number of preferences you can adjust and what parts of the interface are fixed.

Editor Options

SnapDock focuses on a clean, distraction‑free writing experience.
Because of this, editor customization is intentionally limited.

What you can adjust

  • Resize the file tree by dragging its right edge
  • Switch between the four built‑in themes
  • Resize the window or go full‑screen

What is fixed

  • Font family
  • Font size
  • Line spacing
  • Editor layout
  • Toolbar and panel positions

These defaults are chosen to keep SnapDock stable, predictable, and consistent across platforms.

Preview Behavior

SnapDock uses a toggle‑based preview system.

  • Press Show Preview to view the rendered Markdown
  • Press Edit Markdown to return to the editor
  • The preview always matches your current theme

There are no additional preview settings in this version.

Performance Settings

SnapDock does not include manual performance controls.
Instead, performance is handled automatically by the app.

SnapDock is optimized for:

  • fast startup
  • low memory usage
  • smooth editing
  • stable rendering

No tuning or configuration is required.

Future Settings (SnapDock 3.0)

More advanced customization — including theme uploads and appearance options — is planned for SnapDock 3.0.
These features are not available in the current LTS version.
